Frederick the Great was born this day in 1712, to celebrate this year I bought a copy of Frederick The Great by Nancy Mitford, I'm hoping it's not too modern in its outlook...
I recently read somewhere (Wikipedia?) that Friedrich was unpopular in Berlin when he died, attributed to Julius Schoeps, who wrote the book I have about the attempted assassination of Bismarck, an author (like most modern authors) I don't really trust to be honest. Something I need to look into I think.

Friedrich der Große wurde an diesem Tag im Jahre 1712 geboren. Um seinen Geburtstag in diesem Jahr zu feiern, habe ich mir eine Kopie von "Friedrich der Große" von Nancy Mitford gekauft. Ich hoffe, sie ist nicht zu modern in ihrer Betrachtungsweise…
Kürzlich las ich irgendwo (Wikipedia?), daß Friedrich in Berlin bei seinem Tod unbeliebt war, eine Behauptung, die Julius Schoeps zugeschrieben wird, der das Buch über das Attentat auf Bismarck geschrieben hat, das ich besitze. Ein Autor (wie die meisten modernen Autoren), dem ich ehrlich gesagt nicht wirklich vertraue. Etwas, das ich, denke ich, näher untersuchen sollte.
